Diamond Beach Park is at the corner of Rochester and Seaview Avenues in the Diamond Beach section of Lower Township, New Jersey.  Diamond Beach Park has two areas, a playground and an open field/dog park.  The park is super popular with area kids and dogs.  Until the past several years, the park was left alone.  However, when the ICONA hotel used a number of its parking lot spaces to build structures for its facilities on the beach, ICONA rented the field/dog park area from the Township for additional parking. This Spring, ICONA's developer, Achristavest, LLC, submitted plans to demolish the playground, open field/dog park and wooded areas and build the “Icona Villas” townhouses.  The plans were withdrawn after various hearing dates were scheduled but Achristavest, LLC is expected to submit new plans.  You can help by e-mailing your views to Lower Township Mayor Simonsen, our Lower Township Ward 3 Representative, Roland Roy and the other Township Counsel members.  Their e-mail contact information is in the Township Committee section of the Lower Township website:   http://www.townshipoflower.org/mayor/
